History of Soft Rock = Folk Rock (part1) Soft Rock was born in the early 1970s

Soft Rock was born in the early 1970s. Initially, it referred primarily a form offolk rock very focused on melody, less "Roots" and more pop than theoriginal format. It is among the first artists such groups like America, Crosby,Stills & Nash, Seals & Croft, Fleetwood Mac or the Eagles as well assongwriters and performers (songwriters, in English) such as James Taylor,Dan Fogelberg or Neil Young (although it is unthinkable to put the fulldiscography of the latter to the account of Soft Rock, her most famous"Harvest" is one of the key albums). However, some groups like Steely Danor Chicago have merged rock with jazz and funk sounds, making theequation = Soft Rock Folk Rock inaccurate. http://fr.wiki-Soft_rock
