Definition of Soft Rock (part1)

Soft Rock is a term variable geometry and sometimes overused that it may have different meanings in different periods. However, in general, all thesedifferent streams have a common thread: a music soothed, melodic, whichmakes the exact cons-up hard rock.

The links between music and medicine date back to the genesis, but themusic does not even called music, music therapy was an assemblage ofsounds often associated with magic. And every people has attributed tosounds and music until a magical power that music can be studied andbecome a discipline. In antiquity the issues related to the mind, the psyche is not treated as such for two reasons: First of religious thought whichembraces all, do not recognize the psychiatric manifestations of the divinebut, of Secondly there is not in these times of differentiation between psycheand soma. Everything is processed in the body. Hippocrates is a beginningthat will provide differentiation, distinguishing between mental disorders such as phrénétis, mania or melancholia. The music was studied by the Greeks as a science related to mathematics, physics, medicine. Probably inspired byEgyptian medicine, medicine in ancient Greece is supposed to go back to Homeric times. Music therapy does, however, its real growth at the fifth century BC. BC Hippocrates.

The music seems timeless. Singing, clapping, shock stones or pieces ofwood etc.. It is therefore very difficult to date, even approximately, its origin.However few works exist in prehistory and the coexistence of two speciesand the emergence of musical instruments, are now certified. The discoverythat there have been musical instruments, in another case that "our" isattested: These are the Neanderthals. However, contemporary writers speakmore prehistoric aspects of music and also uses the contributions of scienceto make sense of prehistory, and even at practice, as contemporary as that ofmusic therapy. Nevertheless, it is clear that research on shamanic practicesor prehistoric man did not bring us to the moment of proof "music that heals"appeared explicitly in prehistoric times. Research in this area, specificallyfocusing on music, is very marginal.

Music therapy is a component of art therapy which is to use music as atherapeutic tool to restore, maintain or improve the mental, physical andemotional of a person. Another approach to therapy is given by Benenzon,which considers that music therapy is a non-verbal psychotherapy. It is therefore intended for individuals who have no access to language.Benenzon considers the topic in a relational space, inspired by the PaloAlto-based on psychoanalytic concepts Rosolato. Although music therapy ormusic therapy, have existed since ancient times as an empirical form, only inthe twentieth century, in the sixties, the notion of a profession in this areaappeared to its experimental stage, particularly in Canada and the UnitedStates.
